Default easy clutch question with pics

Sorry to post so many easy questions, but I only want to do this job once.

so I have my old clutch out and compaired it against the new one to check everything out

I have done a few clutches in my time but never on a LT1 I saw this gap and it worried me, thought I would post some pics andsee what you guys say before I reinstall everything

(it is a cheap ebay clutch(f1 racing stage 3)..I am broke and won it for $260 shipped with the 23lbs flywheel I got to do what I got to do to get my toy back on the road... To many ricers driving around town thinking they have something)

any way...back to the problem

stock clutch gap with the pp unbolted

replacement gap unbolted

This gap seems to be pretty large, does it look right to you guys?

old clutch deflection bolted

new clutch defelction bolted

this coulod all be right, I just wanted to make sure

ohh and the old clutch is less than 10k miles old. It was a Centerforce Duel friction (I think... Looks like it) any Ideas on why it went out so fast? does not look like who ever installed the last one researfaced the flywheel.

With a gap that big it looks like you might have the clutch disk in backwards. The flat side faces the back of the car

Yeah It would seem but it is in right, the other way is much more and the bolts wounld not reach, as it is they just barly catch threads and I can slowly work it around..

So think I should park my baby till I can get a real clutch?

that is unbolted now, if I put the bolts in and slowly tighten them the gap closes, but it was still more than I am used to so I thought I would ask, looks like my baby is down for anouther month ;( that is what I get for buying cheap crap from ebay

The pressure plate should sit flat on the disk when unbolted. Since yours doesn't there is something wrong
