Default T5 questions

First bein I know I'm gonna catch some flak for this but here goes.

I'm building my v6 bird and the projected power level will be around 350hp 350lbs will be boosted the stock t5 is seriously beat it grinds like Hell goin into 5th and will sometimes kick out of reverse is there any options for stronger t5 perhaps one like the mustang have also with that bein said if so what do I need to look for as far as model year specs ect? Also a wider gear spacing the first gear is so short even with the stock motor and 3.42 gears it rapped first out well before what feels like 60 ft not building a drag car more of a fun to drive dare to be different daily grind planning to do some auto x and the ocaisional stop light to stop light to settle a dispute car has already been the motor is almost ready and the only thing holding it back is me figuring out what to do with the tranny and what I'm gonna do with the forced induction not sure if I'm gonna stick with the eaton m90 fabricated to fit or if I'm gonna turbo the car motor is an l67 out of a 02 Buick park avenue not that it matters a 60 degree v6 is a 60 degree v6 in just trying to get a handle on what I should do in the transmission department

Also what's the best and whom makes a deicent performance clutch and flywheel for a 3.8

Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated thanks

Andy

You really will need a custom built T5 for this application. The biggest problem is, the cost for doing this is not going to be cheap. Figure on about $1200-1400 to get it done. For that kind of money, you can get a 2.95 ratio box built with good stuff that should be able to handle the 350 bench mark you have set.

A turbo 3.8 T56 has been done. Maybe one w/ mn12 ratios would work for your build.

He's not, that's the point. Both Mike (thesource) and Matt (JMD) are probably the best sources on the site for T5 info, and can hold their own on T56 info. It amazes me why members think that becoming a vendor makes you more knowledgeable than anyone ?
