Will an LS1 T56 bolt up to a SBC? I have a '70 Camaro and wanted to do an LS swap, but I think i'm going to leave the engine in there and just do a tranny swap. Will it bolt up and work without any major problems? I know th flywheel might be a concern.

the LT1 spec t56 will bolt up with a special flywheel if it is a pre 86 block. i actually have a spare ram #2555. it is 400$ new -> http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RAM-2555/
your t56 will need the LT1 input shaft + midplate to make it fit but this has been discussed here numerous times.

Ive seen the t56 adapter plate that lets you remove a muncie and retaine your old bell housing clutch and clutch linkage it says....so does that mean you use the same flywheel as well...mines a 2 piece rms

As long as you have a 26 spline clutch disk, yes. Been driving my car with an LS T56 since 2007 with this exact setup.
