LT1 to LS T-56
I read an article in a magazine not long ago about modifying an LT-1 T-56 for use behind an LS motor. I was basically a plug to send the trans to some shop for the rebuild/mod. Does anyone know the mag. article, shop or mod. I'm talking about? I should be heading home next month and would like to get one of my shelf LT1 T56's up to par for a another swap I'm planning. I appreciate it in adavnce.

not sure of the mag article but its pretty simply and you can probably do it yourself. you need to order and ls1 midplate, input shaft and bellhousing. just unbolt your bell and midplate. remove the input shfat and install the ls1 piec then bolt on the ls1 midplate and bell and your done

You can only swap the input shaft on the 94-97 the 93 have different counter shafts and you have to send the input out to be spliced by a machine shop. TDP did mine and they were awesome and it is about the same price.

It is ridiculously easy. $1000 got me a bad LS T56 and a good low mileage LT T56 so I just swapped out the midplate and input shaft from the LS and have had 0 problems with it. Not to mention I have a blown 3rd gear Lt tranny I can keep or sell for almost as much as I paid for the 2 trannies
