I'm putting together a 450rwhp approx LS2 with T56 Magnum and 3:73 gear'd 8.8" Cobra IRS diff in a 2500lb Mazda RX-7 road race car. 18x12's at all corners... 47.5% weight up front.
Need to know about lightweight clutch/flywheel options.
Any input?
I know Quartermaster makes a triple disc 7.25" setup that weighs 13lbs including flywheel/clutch/pressure plates.
I want something not as aggressive as that.

The triple disc will be fine, it will feel just like a normal smooth clutch.
Great looking machine, love to have it here for our sprint/track days. Just my 02 but I notice you're not running any neg camber! It will help your cornering if you do.

Here is an updated picture of the splitter. The car works very very well.
Here is what I ran in the car with a 438ci LS7.

It did not drive anything like stock with this clutch let me tell you. 1st gear had insane clutch chatter.... you couldn't wait to get into 2nd.
No other input on lightweight clutches that aren't an insanely expensive initial outlay?
13lb Fidanza alum flywheel
and then what is the lightest clutch/PP combo?

A 7.25" Mini-Twin is the lightest option but it will be less progressive in terms of engagement than an Aluminum Pressure-Plate/Aluminum Flywheel single-disc or 4-puck version of our SC09PT. It just comes down to whether light weight or smooth engagement are more important. Give me a call if you have questions and I will be happy to assist you. Thanks,

Hey Mark...
Hope all is well!
Here is another option:

I used a single disk version of that clutch in my black FC.

Here is the answer from SPEC. Thank you for taking the time to put this together:
Link to Single-Disc info (ref. the second set of parts listed):
http://www.specclutch.com/cars/Chevy/Camaro/2000/Single
Link to Super-Twin info:
http://www.specclutch.com/cars/Chevy...000/Super_Twin
Link to Mini-Twin:
http://www.specclutch.com/cars/Chevy...2000/Mini_Twin
For your planned usage I would suggest a Stage 3 or 4 dependent on whether you want the dampening associated with a sprung-hub disc. The Stage 4 disc is lighter by about 1-lb. The aluminum pressure-plate option will knock 7-lbs out of the total single-disc kit weight. This would make a Stage 3 clutch kit will weigh about 19-lbs and the Aluminum flywheel is 12.4-lbs for a total of ~31.4-lbs.
The Aluminum Flywheel version of the Super-Twin will weigh approx. 33-lbs. The 7.25" Mini-Twin will weigh about 23-lbs.

It would've been nice to hear from other manufacturers about their products/weight. I called some vendors for answers and the answer I got was call the manufacturer for those details.....
