Default clutch went out >=(

yeah so my clutch went out and i was wondering if i should get the GM SS clutch or somekind of aftermarket clutch? the GM part is like $1300 so if i can find one that is equally good or better for cheaper than let me know please

$1300? that doesn't sound right. I just bought the Z06 setup at the dealer for under $500 . I bought the slave cylinder, clutch/flywheel/pressure plate. that was with my discount, but I'm sure it wasn't an $800 discount.

whoa ****... thanx for the info...thats what i thought too $1300 seems a lil off to me.

Yea, even my top end Clutch Masters clutch was only $900 including a new flywheel. When I bought a Z06 clutch in 2000 it was $350.

yeah they just told me it was fried and that they were gunna order me a new SS clutch...z06 better?

Just buy a spec stage 3 for around $600ish with the billit flywheel.... and get the throw out assembly from gm for about another $150ish...install it yourself...and voila.....instant performance clutch and a feel that is incredible...

I love my spec 3, resurfaced the stock flywheel though. Once it's broken in, the car drives almost like stock in traffic and it grabs like a BASTARD when I want it to .

i have a cartek clutch... its the best clutch i have ever seen or felt..
