Default Updating GM Clutch Hydraulics...Question

I'm geting ready to replace the stock clutch on my '98. I know there is an upgrade for this now, but I'm having trouble nailing down the part numbers.

My friend who works at a Chevy dealership looked up the master and slave, and said that the master is still the exact same part as the one that came with the car.

He did say however, that the slave has been updated 3 times. The slave is $150.00.

Does this sound right? Anybody have the *upgraded* part numbers? Or IS it just the slave...?

Thanks.

When I checked I got the same thing, i'm not positive if the master was really changed? I've never looked close enough.. I think it was. I know the slave is different and a MUCH better improvement over the older version. You should be able to get it cheaper than $150 though.

the slave p/n is 15046288 list is around 160

thunder has them for 130
as for the master all the old ones have been replaced with the new one . but still needs to be drilled for optimal performance. not sure on the cost of that one though. basically 98,99, and most 2000 got the old style master

Yeah, I'll do the drill mod.

But I'm still confused over the contradiction withthe master cylinder issue. My friend is the drivetrain specialist, and has been for over 10 years at this place.

Thanks though for your info. I'll talk to Thunder too.

I contacted Speed Engineering. Spec 3 for 385, total upgrades for $175.00

And yeah, the trick is to tack on $$ for profit margin for the freight. The freight companies give the vendors a break, but charge us full retail. I know they need to make money and all, but just be factual and up-front when you want to know your total! I don't like leaving my credit line open for additional hidden charges!

When I buy mods, I ask for the EXACT price including shipping before finalizing the order. Then I'll send a cashiers check, so no one can jack my credit card account later for freight.
