Default MN12 VS T56 magnum

I've done a little researching, but nothing substantial comes up. I'm curious what the differences are between the MN12 and T56 Magnum internally. As parts are getting hard to find, and prices over inflated, would it be beneficial to "convert" the MN12 to Magnum status? Can it even be done? I've heard the Magnum may have larger gears, but does that mean the synchro design is different as well?
Thanks for any input and expert knowledge.

The Magnum is basically the same as the TR6060 internally.

pretty much everything. the mn12 is just a gear set for a t56. the magnum/6060 comes with better bigger synchros, gears shaft etc. all the parts are upgraded even a built t56 is 2nd to a magnum

All synchros and gears are different.

If you have a perfectly functional GTO box, run it. One in proper operating condition isn't going to be overloaded by a 240.

Ok more questions.
Does the t56 mag fits any ls motor but for gen 3 you need to use the earlier pilot bearing right? How abt the spline? It that the rear of thetrans that connect the driveshaft or is that the one that goes into the motor.
Which is better upgraded stage 3 t56 viper or getting a t56 mag? Jason from tdsp said that he is going to discontinue the stage 3 builds due to some of the part being discontinued.

The Magnums are all 26 spline input, 31 spline output.

If you have no existing core in-hand or extreme fitment requirement, , go for the Magnum

Does that means it will fit all LS engines but needs a new driveshaft?

Two Magnum models are intended to bolt to LS engines. The ratios differ.

All as-delivered Magnum models are longer than all stock engine-mounted GM T56s and TR6060s.

Or you can buy an OEM LS Camaro T56 fitment Magnum from the transmission builders like Tick, RPM, DD etc

Tremec themselves were to be making a Magnum direct replacement...for some reason this has been shelved.
