Default Bullsh*t clutch issues!

Hello all, I've been trying to bleed my aftermarket McLeod clutch for literally months now. Finally decided to take it apart and low and behold the pressure plate fingers are nowhere near the same height as stock! Turns out you're supposed to buy a($400 mind you) throwout bearing putting the overall cost at $1200 for a stage 2 kit, I think that's BS. So I'm sending it back.

So what clutch should I replace the stocker with?? Don't wanna spend over $800 bucks but do need to withstand 450hp. I was lookin at an FX stage 3 any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

You're right, as usual. my complete thought behind that post was more like "I recommend a stage 2 monster to the OP as a replacement clutch, as it should meet the power needs and typically doesn't need a shim, and is in the $630 range." It should always be measured during installation

I have installed A LOT of Mcleod Twin disk clutch kits and have never needed a "$400 throwout bearing". What flywheel are you using? What slave cylinder are you using?

I have had to shim the slave... normally around 115-125 thousandths but that's it, the shims are $10-$20 dollars.

Just finished installing monster stage 3 in my c5. Went to pull out of garage and couldn't get in reverse. Come to find out I needed to shim slave.

doesnt make a difference. Still bolts right to the back of the engine, every car will be different doesnt matter if its a c5,c6 fbody etc you always need to check for a shim. as can be seen here even monsters sometimes need one
