Margin for error.

Margin for error.
When you wake up one day and think that the moon and the stars are aligned. Cooler air. Friendly wind. Slightly cloudy Low humidity. And then.........
The trans in this car is possessed for some reason. Came out and went to RPM for a level two. Needed a second gear and reverse. Got it back in and still never felt like it was fully into second gear. Did the Tick master with the Mantic MR2 and moved the shifter box around to help. Would only ever go/stay in second gear if speed shifted or pulled and held into second Until today I drive to the local track and poof. It acts like someone removed it all together. No grinding. Nothing.
I now have five good gears. POOP.
Proving my theory that with an M6 type car you are on your own
Everything has to be perfect in order to run the number Zero margin for error

sounds like the stops on your shifter are causing this. Remove them completely ( mine have been out since my Lt1 t56, same shifter, mashed to hell for years and years, never had a problem )
To have the same issue before and after a build points to something else. Are you sure your clutch is fully releasing? A dragging clutch can also cause these issues. Hydraulics throwing enough? Verify piston movement with the marker trick, check for bent rods, sloppy linkage etc etc etc. Many things to verify before blaming the trans so I'd be ruling out other problems before yanking the trans back out.

So Jeremy from RPM brought my buddies Grand Sport back to Wisconsin yesterday and since his trailer was empty, I decided to have him take the whole car back to Indiana. Figuring just let the trans guys do their magic. Convert my transmission from currently having five gears back to a six speed.
Hoping my mantic clutch, GM slave and Tick Master are all still good. Guess I’ll wait for the call from Jeremy

Synchros were trashed on fifth and reverse.
They fixed second gear again since it was missing and I needed a new
Bellhousing. Mine was cracked. Had drilled some holes in it to vent the clutch dust but he said that weakens it too much. Guess I figured my power level
Isn’t much of anything. I was mistaken
Also put a new shifter in the car. MGW. Uses the factory ****
Just gotta get down to Anderson and pick it up
