Default 2002 clutch pedal spring

How hard is it to install the spring on the pedal. Mine is missing.

Pretty damn hard! Do you have an aftermarket master cylinder and clutch. It was recommended to remove mine and it works fine. Tick master and Monster clutch.

Did you remove the spring?

Yes! I removed the spring and the pedal is not extremely hard to press but have not had any issues with the engagement of the clutch. I guess due to the
stiffer pressure plate and the bigger bore of the master it is not needed. If need be i would put the old coil spring set up like 70's - 80's trucks had, would be a lot
easier to install.

I have the same MC and clutch and I remember reading to remove the pedal spring but I couldn't locate it. I'm not having any engagement issues and the clutch engages more to top of the pedal than at the bottom. I don't think removing the spring will change this but could you post some pictures of where the spring is located?

It's a real pain in the ***. Plan for a lot of time.

In this thread, I've pasted several links to other threads where people talk about how to do it. https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...rn-spring.html

does leaving the spring on with after market MC and clutch cause and damage to the pedal? cause my clutch pedal pivot point broke off due to the constant presses it went through after only having the tick and ram hd clutch/pressure plate for a little less than a year.

It will add force, but no where near enough to cause a metal bracket to break.
