What’s a high quality good short throw shifter for t56?
I have an 01 z28 6speed and looking to get the best and smoothest short shifter for my car. Looking for recommendations on what’s high quality and the best functioning out there.

Quality yes, smooth... NO
I have used a few if the sikky and they are pretty good.
The Other shifter you might consider is the PRO 5.0 shifter. It is a nice, smooth shifter. (I have used this the most)
Now, The one I am really liking right now in the Hinson shifter... Even though it is a direct copy of the McLeod/Red Roberts shifter it is the best, softest feeling shifter that runs off of Bellville washers and not a ball and spring like most. Not a lot of moving parts to wear like most either and you can get them in different shifter stick positions as well.
Just my .02 cents..

I have had a pro 5.0, pro 5.0 with an old school Lou's short stick, an MGW, and the factory hurst base with both the stock stick and a short stick and then I have also tried the old b&m ripper. Plus I have tried all kinds of different ***** on all of them. I always come back to the stock hurst base with a short stick. Mine right now has that with a short stick from Hawks that allows you to run a 5th or 6th gen (can't remember which) shift ****. Smoothest but also still precise. Also doesn't transmit a ton of noise either.

MGW. It can be a little harsh sometimes, but weigh the options. a little harshness or miss a shift.
MGW is made by the company that make gun parts and tools. Willing to bet the level of precision is much better.
Driven cars with just about every shifter made for these trans. The MGW feels like it has the most positive 2-3 engagement.
And yes, Pro 5.0 is ughhhh. Was great back in the day because that's all we had besides Hurst junk vs the 12" throw of a stock shifter.
