I didnt, I just had to splice into the neutral safety switch from the A4 for rear hatch, cruise, etc.

doing an A4 to M6 conversion, does the pilot bearing for the M6 sit in the rear main seal housing? do i need to buy a rear main seal and housing for a M6 LS1?

no the Bushing/Bearing works with the A4 main seal and housing. There just isn't a bushing for the A4 so you have to install one

As of now I have the 2 wires from the neutral saftey switch jumped so I can start it, I know this needs changed and will be. What do I need to do get get my cruise to work?
The best I can understand is that I need to get a "Clutch Pedal Anticipation Switch" at least and wire it into the brake switch also in a series and then to where does it go?

Also since the swap, my TCS off light is on and will not turn back on, switch is non functioning right now. Will a reflash take care of it?

Computer will be reflashed Saturday with HPTuners.
If I read the section right the 99+ you have two wires from the PCM to the cruise shut off switches, one for the brake and one for the clutch. The A4 only uses one. So you have to splice a wire into the PCM and either run it to that clutch switch or ground it by the PCM (to make a closed loop) and wire the two switches in series so either switch will cut off the cruise. I'm not sure the PIN # for this but you can find it in here. And I couldn't tell ya why the A4 works without the second wire the the M6 won't, it's probably in the programming? Sorry I couldn't tell you anything about your TCS system I don't have it so never bothered to look at it.

you might need to splice your reverse lights. I'm not sure if they're in that engine harness or not but I had to run a wire from the A4 shifter to the switch in the tranny. It's no big deal at all since you have to cut the hole anyways for the shifter, just either drill a hole or run it under that lower shifter boot. just make sure you get some kind of grommet for it or shrink tube and lots of tape. that's all I can really think of. the dash harness probably has the clutch safety start switch and cruise cutoff switches on it.

Im going to be doing an a4-m6 swap in the winter. Where are you guys getting your a4 to m6 conversion kits from and what else is needed besides the kit? Just a T56?

How much do the kits usually go for?

I read through most of this...but maybe I missed it...I hope someone can help.

Let's say I want to swap my auto for the 6 speed. If I have a donor 6 speed car that is putting a turbo 350 or something and won't need the wiring harness... what all do I need to take his wiring. Does the 6 speed wiring come seperate at some point that makes it easy to swap.

Basically what I'm saying is how hard is it to make a auto cars wiring look identical to a stock 6 speed wiring if I can get ahold of it all.

It took me like 2 hours to remove the whole ENGINE wire harness, but there is also an INTERIOR wire harness, which would probably be another hour or two. If you wanted to make it look stock you need the engine one, and the interior one also..

Well I just did one - and let me say one thing, unless you are there watching the shop you will never know if they did it right, I was swapping w/ a guy who was ALSO originally an automatic, but now an M6, and he wanted to go back to automatic, and the job they did on his car was real bad - tranny only had 4 bolts on it, among other stuff...

is it a M6 crossmember? The A4 brace won't work for the M6. Or maybe you have the crossmember backwards, try rotating it 180 degrees

Not sure if they're interchangeable between body styles like that. I kind of doubt it though. Here's a picture of the 02 camaro M6 crossmember for you to compare. Sorry it's not detailed but if you need me to I can get better pictures of it on my car. Just PM me..
