M6 to A4 and A4 to M6 Conversion info requested
I just want to add something here, I read all 19 pages and didn't see it. I am 90% done with this swap, took about 4 hours all I have left is wiring. I have access to a lift so it makes it a lot quicker.
TIP: When you go to do the master cyl, take the steering column out and put the new M6 pedals in place to trace the master shape on the firewall, then drill etc. Shove the master into the hole there a little bit from the engine bay, put the pedals in, line it up flush then use 2 BOLTS not the u bolt inwards from the engine bay. You can actually put your hand right on both holes thru the steering column hole, takes about 45 seconds to install the master cylinder this way. You can get a good fit from autozone etc, M7 bolts like 20mm long, fits perfectly.

Ok- I am going the opposing way - from manual to auto
And I am stuck with this- cant find it anywhere but here- and want to know WTF it is and what does it do.. - for some reason I have 3 brake switches 2 white, one blackish greyish, and this thing

So what i was going to do with the posted above is just link those wires from that clutch pedal switch to the yellow and brown from my NSS.
Taking the green from the NSS wiring it over to the backup light harness on the driver side floor rail.Taking the brown from NSS up to Turn BU fuse 2 and tying it in there. Taking the black w/ white linking out to engine block for stated ground in wiring diagram.
I have linked the LT Blu/blk wire from the brake pedal switch to the shift interlock solenoid, from there through the tan/wht wire through the diode and met it w/ the org/blk to the NSS.
And i think thats about it besides hooking the A4 harness up to the computer and the tranny.
yeah, finally figured that out.. - I am now in the process of making my own wiring harness going from the NSS into the car ( b/c im converting to an auto instead of a 6 speed)

I did the writeup, but i decided to go with a 700r4 instead of a 4L60E..
Its all in there about what I did with the neutral saftey switch. I dont think you need to worry about hooking up the orange/black wire on the NSS or the BTSI solenoid. I did, but I dont think its right. However my car does start and run and shift, so if you dont wire it up and it doesnt shift, let me know and i'll tell you how to wire the BTSI..
Good luck,
Jeff
Quote : connect light green and brown into the reverse switch located on the passenger side of the T56 for the reverse lights to work. You can buy the pigtail, or engineer a way to get the wires to hold and be protected. I put the wires in and pinched them into place. The pigtail will run about $50 of unneccesary spending. Polarization does not matter. (again, use solder and heat shrink when you add wire to these).
Im doing an A4 to M6 swap and have a question about the reverse switch. Im using an M6 ECM and M6 harness. will i still need to run the two wires to the back up switch or will It work w/ just the wiring thats there?
thanks,
corey
