Yes the Pro 5.0 is noisy, but not while shifting, just cruising, but it is not bad at all. The lower shifter boot needs to be cut in order for the shifter to fit properly. This boot is what keeps the noise down on other shifters.

Pro 5.0 with an angled short stick from Speed Inc. does wonders for your throw.

I've been running a 5.0 with LSS for awhile now. Always had trouble powershifting, especially into 3rd, and had to use a little extra force to get it in all gears. Went back to the longer Power Tower and it gives me more leverage to slam the gears, I can actually shift quicker. The LSS was just too short for me.

Lou's Short Stick and the factory Hurst shifter in my car, and I love it. I didn't think it would make a big difference, but it made my shifts much more secure. If you have the factory Hurst, adding the Lou's stick is a cheap mod. If you don't like it, you can always buy a Pro 5.0 or a B&M Ripper later.

I have a UMI short stick and the factory Hurst. It's inexpensive and made a big difference.

Does anyone find that it is much harder to shift into gears (due to leverage)? And if so, does it affect your 1/4 times? Just asking because I just installed an LSS and don't get me wrong, i love the thing, I just find it pretty hard/notchy to shift at times. And I'm not quite sure that this is helping my times as much as it is helping the arm with those much shorter/better throws.

A bit off topic, but there's nothing wrong with saying Honda, I drove an S2000 a while back and you could literally shift gears with a flick of your finger. Honda really knows how to engineer manual trannies.

Thats what I'm using now. Pro 5.0 was my very first mod in 98 and it was a great mod. I just got a angled short stick from Speed Inc last week for $19.99. I wish I would have done this a long time ago. The stick on a Pro 5.0 is kinda long but with the short stick it is perfect.

It is the same way for me like I posted above. You have to set the shifter up for you, not everyone is the same. If the 5.0 went into gear as easy as a stock or Hurst shifter then the LSS would be great for me.

I have the factory Hurst with LSS and love it.

I tried the Pro 5.0 and didn't like the noise and had problems with it returning to the center.

The short stick makes a huge differerence on the factory Hurst.
