i was racing a vette i was 1 car lenght behind then in 3rd and 4th i start closing up until the end of the the 4th when i was exactly next to him speed shift into 5th and he started pulling away the final result was about 1.5 cars between me and him the same thing with a M5 BMW the same with a ramair trans am???!!!!1 what is the reason ??is this normal? by the way my car is 99% stock i have only a lid and a filter.

Seriously, stock gearing tops fourth out around 130, thats plenty fast enough for a race to be decided.
5th is a weaker gear physically too. I wouldn't do too many powershifts into 5th.

Racing on public roads at that speeds isn't very smart...
Get shorter gears (like 4.10s) and then you'll be kicking most cars enough by 90-100 mph that you won't have to go higher than that.
If I want to go faster, I just wait to kick the crap outta cars at the drag strip... ain't worth the consequences on the street.
