Angry MY first spec3 lasted 8 months.. This one is on it's 2nd month 2k miles and junk.

I used to think these clutches were awesome. 8 monhts in a lil spring breaks off my clutch. damn there is like almost a 1400 dollar bill between a new clutch, master, slavecylinder, and trany mount replacement.

SO I get another tihnking I'll get another 8 months. about 500 miles ago it started acting up. I gave it a good 500 mile break in. SO IN all actuallity I only got 1000 miles of driving where I didn't have to worry about how I was shifting.

At first I thought it was my tranny. No It's my clutch I can tell. WTF Am I supposed to do now. I'm babying it big time because I can't afford to go through all this again. WHo the hell am I supposed to use for a clutch now. This is rediculous. I'm pissed. What a waste.

Thanks for posting more info about spec clutch giving out...i dont really have much knowledge to tell ya what to do next, but i can tell ya i've been searching info on this board about spec and ram, and i've recently been finding a lot more complaints for spec clutches as opposed to ram, i'm leaning towards the Ram Powergrip HD w/ adj. master and 01GM slave. What kind of customer service have you been getting from Spec? if it only has 1000 miles on it howcome they dont replace it?

Because they only cover a 30 day warranty.

I'm pretty fed up and pissed. I'm not sure what to do. I can't afford to put a clutch in every 2k miles now that I'm making some serious power. I need to take a survey and find out who's using what!

I'd try out the RAM. Haven't put any miles on my new Spec 3, but if this one craps out early, it's RAM for me next.

I have had good luck with my Spec Stage 3, I don't a lot of HP in my car but it runs pretty strong in the 1/4. I have between 9-10,000 miles on the clutch and they are not babied miles at all, as the car is not my daily driver

Where do I look into the RAM Clutches. I have an RMA Set up with SPEC. I just called em and they said they have 120 days. It's on my only car though so I have to figure something out on how I'm gonna do the swap and such.

I'm startin to wonder if these clutches are only good for 350-400HP.

FYI- I have a SPEC 3I w/ billet flywheel. It has about 8 months and 10K miles on it. Currently I'm about 500 RWHP & 450 RWTQ. Also, in October when it was about 4 months old I went to the track and did 24 passes in one day (power at that time was about 480/437)....so far so good...

spec has a 120 day warrenty, not a 30 day. My first spec III lasted for 18000 miles of pure abuse. I put down 527/605. I then decided to buy a second spec III, that one welded together because I didn't break it in long enough. That was 130 days after purchase and I sent it in and told them to send me a new one, even after the warrenty was up and they did. I got a brand spanken new spec III in the car now for free after the warrenty was up. I think they are pretty good at the customer service ****.

I went from Ram to Spec. The adjustable master stuff started to **** me off after 3 adjustable masters breaking. I might look into clutchmasters next but the spec seems to be holding up fine.

Ya. I originally thought it was 30 days because of what more performance told me. When I actually called spec they seemed really willing to help me out. I"m only 60 days in so I odn't think I'll have much to worry about so I'm pretty sure it'll all work out.

I haven't heard of any problems with the Clutchmasters. I already got 13000 miles on mine with no problems.
It's expensive at first. But you already went through 2 spec clutches at about $400 each, and ready for the third one, so that's at least $1200 , and that's without new flywheel or resurfacing, and without labor if you don't do it yourself.
I was going to go with Spec also, but then all these Spec problems started coming out, I'm glad I didn't buy a Spec.
I paid $850 for my clutchmasters. 13000 miles and loving it
