Master Cylinder Hole
I am in the process of doing A4 to T56 swap. I have the pedals completely in and now it is time to drill the holes for the ubolt and the hole for the master.
If I look inside the engine bay it looks like there is a circle part about a little over an inch in diameter where it appears that I am to drill with the hole saw.
I havent seen or read anything anywhere about this little circle plate. It looks like it pops out for the master cylinder. I havent seen anyone mention it....
Any1 know what I am talking about?
Do I still drill or what??? Looks like this part is meant to be popped out in order to put a master cyl in its place...

Got your PM, I could snap a picture tonight of my firewall if you want (from the cabin side). Are there holes on either side of that larger one for the U-bolt clamp to slip through?

Nevermind guys...I got it. What I did is drilled the holes for the ubolt, easy.
Then used a peice of thin cardboard and cut out a 1-3/4" hole with the hole saw in the cardboard. Then I put the cardboard peice over the master cylinder and marked where the bolts go.
I then took the cardboard peice and put it up against the firewall, lined it up, and used the hole saw to drill the hole. It worked perfect!
I will have a full set of pics to put up once I am done with the entire install...

I just put up pics in the A4 to M6 sticky thread too (from my swap in 2002). No captions yet.

Congrats on the swap. I finished mine 2 weeks ago. I drilled a 2" hole and found out that's a little too big. Now I got about 1/2" gap above the MC and firewall.
