Default rear bushing in T-56

I think the rear bushing in my trans. is going out. How much should I expect to pay for the repair if I pull the unit myself ?

Or are you talking about the tranny mount between the crossmember and the tranny? If so, it's very simple to do yourself if you have any type of experience with hand tools.

If you handed me the transmission, it would be a 30 min. repair. I don't know what your shoppe charges / hour.

Yep. This is an easy one. You only need to remove the extension housing and press/drive out the old bushing and the drive/press in the new one. No internal to the tranny needs to be touched. But just wait until you try and put the driveshaft back in

Do you have a vibration or a rear leak ? If not the bushing is probably fine .

yes, I have a pretty bad vibration at 65-75 mph. it doesn't matter what gear the trans. is in, and I've already swapped out the rearend, and have had about 4 different sets of wheels/tires on the car. Oh yeah, I also swapped out the d/s with another aluminumn one. I did a search and found a couple of others who had the same symptoms and it turned out to be the rear bushing.

Sounds like the tailshaft housing bushing is kaputz.
