Default 6spd cars w/aluminum d-shaft

did all 6spd cars come with aluminum d-shaft or only WS6 and SS cars??

Far as I know, all ls1's did.

All LS1 cars with manual transmissions came with aluminum drivesshafts, and some A4 cars with factory 3.42s got them as well.

from what i gather.. if your car came with 2.73's you got the steel but if u had the upgraded 3.23 gear package you got the aluminum ds.

I was just talking about this with a buddy of mine. If I remember correctly all LS1's did.

My M6 has steel shaft. My understanding is the cars that go the high speed tires got high limits in the PCM and aluminum shafts. For instance, my car is a 2000 Z28 M6 with normal rated tires, a steel shaft and the speed limit was 110 or so.

My 01 Z28 has aluminum.
