Default Trial by fire, RAM Powergrip HD

Well, I went to the track for the first time on my new RAM Powergrip HD clutch... and it passed with flying colors! Never once had a burning clutch smell, and it handled 6k+ clutch dumps all afternoon and evening long without batting an eye. In fact, even on a close to 7k clutch dump, the car still bogged some out of the hole... I'm thinking its time for a steeper gear (running 4.11s now).

Anyhow, car ran the best time its ever run... 11.92 @ 116.27mph with a 1.70 60'. Definitely has more in it... mods in sig. So far, I'm very happy with this clutch.

The Powergrip HD uses their sintered iron disk with a sprung hub (I think it's a 910 disk if I remember correctly).

Hmm, I can't use the sintered iron disk with an aluminum flywheel.

Yeah, the HD is more of a drag racing clutch than anything... so it is best used with a billet steel flywheel or heavier.

I have a McLeod adjustable master... you'll want to have an adjustable (either RAM, McLeod, or someone else) that has a bigger bore that pushes more fluid.

I didn't have much of a break in period... drove it roughly 300 mostly highway miles, then took it to the track and gave it hell. Would have done it the very next day after the clutch install a couple weeks ago, but the track cancelled the races due to electronic difficulties.
