Question B&M, Pro 5.0, SLP?????

Ok i have been reading about different short throw shifters, but have a question. Are the SLP & Pro 5.0 the only two u can get a short stick for along with the entire short throw assembly? B&M looks like one whole piece from the pics i have seen & it looks kinda tall also. Has anyone used the SLP? If so does it perform as god as the other two? Reason im askin is that the WS6 Store is having a special, your choice of shifter & short stick for like $105. Sounds like a damn good deal, since u can get any short throw u want (Pro 5.0 is well over $100 by itself). I need some personal experience facts on this topic. Anyone else who has had one of these three let me know what u like. Im leaning toward the SLP(looks like a quality piece to me)

The Pro-5.0 is awsome with any short stick you throw on it. I have had mine for 1.5 years and love it! The only bad thing with it is the tranny noise you will hear. It may annoy you, it may not. I got over it.
A buddy of mine has the B&M, and I don't like the fact that you cannot change the stick. You are correct on the one piece observation. I helped him install it, and the got to drive it, and let me say it is a quality piece, but I like my shifter as short as possible. It was just to high. Don't know about the SLP one, but I really have not been impressed with anything from them to be honest with you. I think its pretty much just like the factory Hurst piece. Thats a damn good deal with the shifter and stick for $105! You best jump on that one quick!

See thats my delima, i read at WS6 store that the SLP shifter was highly rated by a GM performance test & u can add a short stick to it. I have noticed that SLP tends to have a little of a bad wrap as far as price-vs-quality. I really like the B&M but i want a short stick also. The Pro 5.0 seems to be the choice of guys who speed shift or power shift. i dont power shift. Which would be best for me? im confused

I have no experience with slp or b&m, but the pro 5.0 is AMAZING. I don't see how there could be a better shifter.

I don't power shift my car either, I just love the feel of the shifter. I will post a pics of mine up for ya so you can see just how high it is. I have the 5.0 with a cheapo short stick I got off e-bay. It was straight when I got it, but I drew it out the way I wanted it and sent it with my cousin to work and he heated and bent it for me. Its perfect. I like it much better than his hurst with the LSS.

just get the B&M and cut it down to the correct size you want. if you have to.. re-thread the stick.

I have the 5.0 and I am JUST getting used to it. Had it for a week. Noisy? I dont know.. I have headers and gmmg

It is NOTCHY though.

I have the 5.0 but cut it down to size to be the right size for a short throw. Why throw MORE money out the window if you can customize.

This being said.. I bought my entire shifter used and already done lol

105 for shifter and short stick? OMG thats awesome!

I may jump on this just for a switch once in awhile.

anyone know the sites address?

Dude, I know! The pro is like $175 itself, and a short stick would be another $20-25. Thats a killer deal.

I will get them in a minute. Gotta find the digital camera first.

**EDIT**:
I do not have my camera with me now, so I will post them as soon as I get it back.

I got a Pro 50 with a LSS and love it. I wouldn't want any other shifter for mine at any price. JMHO

Yea I have a pro 5.0 with UMI short stick and it feels great. But for 105 bucks, Id jump all over that. Pro 5.0's usually sell used for more than that and on top they throw in a short stick. Id get it before that sale ends

to me the pro 5.0 does not feel that much different than the stock shifter. I like that it has the stops built in though. Its easy to get rid of the noise, just use rtv between shifter and tranny as well as in between stick and shifter.

the "notchy" feeling is like this:

You go from neutral to first.. you get a click going into first.. come out of first is a click into neutral and then a click into 2nd. And so on so fourth.

Feels like 2 gears to every one. I know this is probably the WORST way to explain it.

1st to second: click, click...
2nd to 3rd.. click click..
3rd to 4th.. click click.
4th to 5th.. click click.
5th to 6th.. click click.

normal shifter..
1st to second.. click
2 to 3.. click
3 to 4.. click
4 to 5.. click
5 to 6.. click.

see the difference?

plus slamming it into gear is like wedging something into a tight spot.. rough.

Well, no one has any input it seems on the SLP shifter so I'll throw my 2 cents in. I've had it in for a little over a year and have had no problems with it. Easy straight forward install.. took like 15-20 mins. Cost wise you can get it 105 bucks here http://www.lmperformance.com/2967/8.html ... thats where I got mine. It shifts great. no funny noises, no notchy shift points. Came with the H leather wrapped tip. I'd recomend it to anyone looking for a short throw. It's not to high either, my hand rests on it quite comfortably off the center console arm rest.

::sig comming soon::
... sorry I like the little animated smileys.

I have read nothing, I have a hurst short throw, short stick and t-handle and I LOVE IT! My stock car on a Z06 clutch chirps 1-4 hard on the street. I gained 2mph with my shifting with the t handle.. true story.
