Robert,
Hows the Textralia running? I am looking to buy something different than what I have ($1,500. Street Twin w/aluminum flywheel). I'm just tired of being the R&D department for McLeod. Anyone running strong 10's with it yet to your knowledge?

Thanks,
Jeff

Took it to the track finally. On my et street radials I managed to snap an axle. Who knows what else went with it. I haven't popped the cover and looked at the carrier and gears. Here is a photograph of the launch that did me in.

5k with a quick slip of the clutch. The car hooked hard, The clutch grabbed like a fat man at a buffet, and the launch felt real strong...for about 10-15 feet. Then I heard a LOUD pop and that was all she wrote.

9inch time now.

I know over at corvetteforum, all the fast Z06's are now running the Textralia, generally. Many, many in the tens. My runs on more than a few occasions would have been 10's except for driver error, like run in sig, hit the limiter 3rd gear (.100). Then was kicked off track soon after (no roll bar). But I have no doubt this is a good 10.xx clutch.

LOL, now if I can remember my login over there, I'll be golden. Thanks for the info Robert! You know what gets me? How often is it that a cheaper clutch outperforms a more expensive one? I'm just glad its not more expensive than my Mcleod.

No 12 bolt or 9in, but the weak/crappy stock vette rear. Many many 5200/5500 basic clutch dumps. just a little tire spin to keep dead hook at bay and thus breakage, and running 480rwhp.

So, you're saying that you're letting the little tire spin just to keep the rear from breaking and not the clutch itself? What do you think would happen with a dead-hook?

Another question, what makes this clutch so "STRONG" compared to other companies?

I'm very close to gettin this ordered!

Thanks,
Adrian

Yea worried about snapping a short shaft, a tranny output shaft or the cases, not to mention the driveline. The clutch itself, not worried what so ever.

So, this would be the clutch to go for if I'll be running 450-480 hp and 410-420 ftlbs tq on a NA motor, coupled with a 12bolt or a 9in?

Thanks!

I just started the break in period today. Definitely some chatter, but it's manageable. I've got about 60 miles into it and driving it as much as possible around town to hurry up and get those miles tacked on so I can really drive it! so far, so good...

What i did to break it in faster was make sure I down shifted through the gears all the time. The chatter will go away. after about a month, I realized a lot of my chatter was that Iwas leaving at to high of an rpm. Now it's about taking off at idle and smooth as a baby's behind.

I Just Put This Clutch In My Silverado With A 1998 T56. The Truck Weigh's About 4300 Lbs. I Am Pushing 480hp And 550tq To The Wheels. I Had Chatter The First 500 Miles, It Has A Nice Smooth Engagement Now. The Clutch Feels Excellent. I Have About 3000 Miles On It. About To Take It To The Track In About Two Weeks,to See What She Will Do. I Love The Clutch!

Do any of you guys (with a low engagement point) use an adjustable master cylinder? I would think that would fix your issue.

Thanks,
Troy
