Default WTF anyone experienced this.....

preface: its a 2002 camaro ss with 42k miles stock hydraulics and a spec stg 3 with their billet steel flywheel

Well I was driving around 3 days ago when I stopped at autozone to pick up some stuff, anyway when I went to leave my car would not go into gear, so i freak out....after a few minutes it went into gear and I limped it home.

when I got home the clutch resovior was hideous it was blacker than night so we bleed it, so we started it and nothing no engagement.... then again after a while it worked we drove it around for 10 min shifting the whole way, so we get home and for good measure turn it off and on again and again NOTHING..... WTF I am confused we have checked EVERYTHING, anyone have ANY ideas.... thank you

Hmmm, you're sure there isn't any air in the system? If so, check underneath the car, look for any signs of leaking fluid from the slave cylinder. You closed the bleeder valve tight? Is the line running from the master to the slave in all the way (felt it click)? I know these sound like simple things, but it's usually the small things that go wrong. Has the pedal engagement changed from before this incident?

Forgot to ask, did you just install this clutch on the car? Did you use the supplied shim for the slave cylinder?

Sounds to me that your Hydraulics are shot.
They do get dirty and need fluid changes ones a year or Sooner.
Disconnect the Master from the Slave
Get in the car and push on the clutch
It should be hard as a rock, and should not bleed down.
That would tell me that its your slave.
The hydraulics in these things are pretty week.
Mine need replacing too.

Installed SPEC with the shim included with the kit. Clutch engaged right off the floor. after driving it around for a while, it started getting hard, then impossible to put into gear. I bled the system again, not fixed. I replaced the slave cylinder, not fixed. I bled the system some more, not fixed. I pulled the trans back off and made extra shims out of sheet aluminum, then installed them in addition to the shim included with SPEC. Problem solved.

I have since bought the Mcloed adjustable, so I won't have to deal with that anymore.

Thats what you get for buying a Spec... jk Sounds like your slave or master might be going out and letting in dirt into the system. I'd guess its the slave since clutch dust is black.
