Default Emergency!!!

My clutch pedal all of a sudden decided to have four inches of play and about an inch of grab this morning. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet to see if fluid is coming out anywhere. Any Ideas? Line? Slave cylinder? I absolutely need the car today.

Try pumping the pedal a bunch of times and see if you can get it to the top. Check the fluid and make sure it is full. Walk over to the auto store and get the mityvac and do a fast bleed job. First step, see if you can pump the pedal up.

Pumped up about half way. it's not leaking anywhere. I haven't had a chance to check the fluid level yet. I keep getting bitched at here at work for going out to mess with it. Those bastards.

Flush the fluid and bleed, bleed, bleed.

Well I can still drive the car but it seems to be getting worse. I went everywhere looking for a mightyvac and no one seems to know what it is. To tell you the truth I have no idea what it is. How bad is it to get to the line to manually bleed it? I really need to get this fixed, it's my only car.

You can buy a mityvac at the local Autozone, they should have it where they have some of the specialty tools, like pulley removal tools and such. It's basically a hand held tool (looks like a gun) with a clear tube connected to the end and it builds up pressure as you pump it. It's a small pump.
