I have a Fidanza Aluminum FW withe the LS7 clutch and love it! I dont plan to drag race the car much but have 460rwhp/rwtq. It works fantastic on the street and holds very well.

I have this question too, but did the Fidanza Flywheel for the LS2 or did you have it with another LS1/LS6 type of clutch? and then put the LS7 Clutch in?

I bought the direct Fidanza replacement for a C6 LS2 flywheel and bolted it to the new LS7 clutch Assembly.

Don't use an LS1 aluminum flyhwheel with the LS7 clutch. I believe the diameters are different. I guess Fidanza has an LS2 flywheel out now?

Does anyone know the weights of the different flywheels?

LS2 steel?
Fidanza aluminum LS2?
LS2 Billet Steel (if this exists)?

This may be helpful in the decision making.

I think for an LS1 it is about 24lbs for the iron disk, 18lbs for the billet aluminum, and 8lbs for the aluminum.

For the LS2, you would have about the same difference between them, but add a little weigth because of the larger diameter. I'd guess 26lbs for the LS2 iron, 20lbs for the LS2 billet steel, and 9.5lbs for the LS2 aluminum. Is there an LS2 billet flywheel out yet?

I saw at Tbyrne that SPEC offers a billet aluminum flywheel. They also have a billet steel flywheel but it doesn't say if it's lighter than the stock ls2 flywheel.

Yes, the lower rotating inertia could result in a bit of a bog with a bad launch technique. If your foot is still on the gas, shouldn't be a problem. If you have slicks and can launch a wheelie at 6K, then the lighter flywheel would lose you some launch power.

The lighter flywheel should make that up later on down the pass.

The stock ls1 fw is 28-29lbs
Billet is 18ish
Aluminum is 12.5

FYI:
I e-mailed TByrne and asked them to compare the SPEC billet steel LS2 flywheel (only ls2 billet steel I found) to the stock ls7. The response was that the weights are pretty much the same between the two but the billet steel is stronger and flatter.
