Default Damn clutch still sticking

Last weekend, after several WOT passes, I noticed the clutch petal would get mushy and not return as quickly after the 2-3 shift. So last night I did the drill mod and bleed the system 15-20 times with new Synthetic Dot 4. I did bench bleed before I installed the master. So last night, made a few passes, same problem.

Normal driving is fine, and the first or second WOT pass it's fine, but after that the clutch doesn't want to return, and I end up grinding gears.

The clutch is a stock LS1, with update master/slave, with 12k miles.

Any ideas?

Wrap the braided line from the master to the slave with 3/8s rubber fuel line, then wrap aluminum heat reflective tape over the line. I used quite a bit of the aluminum tape. This along with Syn DOT IV fluid and i've never had the problem again. Many think the problem stems from the fluid boiling in the line near the headers. Insulating the line should drop temps pretty good. Either way i've not had a problem since I did mine.

My clutch has always acted up since ive owned it. Ive changed the master, drill mod, bleed, changed fluid, changed clutch, wraped the line and now its worse than ever, slipping... bleeding off...sticking to the floor. No leaks whatsoever. when i get some extra loot, ill replace my 800 mile pos clutch again and put in a new slave. if it still acts up im putting an Auto in. I cant handle it much longer. Backing up is a MOTHER!! If i ride the clutch longer than 2 secs it bleeds off and car takes off. have to stop the motor or back into something sadly Im getting use to it... pulling pedal up after every shift but I have to rid my slipping to try my new n20 kit!! Only motavation at this point to tear it down again

smokin2002, from your description it sounds like you replaced the clutch but left the old slave? Please tell me otherwise!! What type of clutch?

yeah i left in the slave because its an 02 with 30k miles. it didnt leak so.... The clutch is a spec. If i change the slave i will have changed everything!!! Like i said its only getting worse with me fooling with it. clutch and flywheels are too damn high for ls1's. After installing the spec and 400 miles no wot.. It worked fine except for sticking. It held 2 3k launches at the track and now slips if given not even half throttle. The engagment is still great. my only educated guess is my slave took a dump now and is seeping b-fluid in the case saturating the disks causeing slip??? But its not leaking!! Its one hing if i got a year or so out of it... but it seems like i just put it back together..

the slave is the first thing I've heard to change when having this problem....which I am now. I need to find a link to a howto for pulling out the tranny and stuff. Anyone got one?

I just can't believe you left the stock slave in there after replacing everything else! Mine had only around 13K on it and I replaced it when I threw in my new clutch. I'm not ragging on you man, it's just that for $100 slave all of this probably would have never happened. Hopefully any newbies that read this thread will learn a lesson.

Couple of stupid questions: If he already has an '02 slave, wouldn't he have replaced the unit with the same one, but newer?

Also, could someone send me pics/quick writeup of how to wrap the master to slave line? I just need to know which line it is.

Thanks!
