Should work on just about any car with a master cylinder.

That should work for LT1's as well. Same principal.

We were having trouble bleeding the clutch the normal way. You know, pump and open the bleed screw and close and pump. For some reason it just wasn't working well after about 45 min.

That's when I thought of this idea. In 5 min. we were done.

Amen to that. We done a clutch/tranny job on a buddys 99 camaro. After we filled it with fluid in a matter of 5 minutes it was bled. Hopped in the car and clutch worked the best. I fugured we wold at least have to do it twice.

I've done that for years.

On a GTO it's a little harder because the hole is not on the bottom. It's on the bottom of the side.

That said, I've been told that it ruins the seals or something. Oh and the sky may be falling.

I used to do this, but I heard it could be bad on the seals in the slave cylinder.

Why would it ruin the seals again by using the mityvac method?

I just read on here somewhere that putting pressure on the system would reverse/flip the seals on the slave cylinder. Although I am questioning it myself

I mean, the system is under pressure when you apply the pedal so I don't see how using the mityvac to create a vacuum would harm the seals. Unless you create a really high vacuum, then I could see it happening. Not trying to put you on the spot Jimmard, just thinking out loud I guess.

No problem, but if you think about it, you are creating a suction rather than putting pressure on it. So its like putting pressure on it, but in the opposite direction if ya can understand what I'm saying. Maybe the seals are meant to only hold pressure one way and when you put suction on it, its puts pressure on the seals in the opposite direction. Just thinkin out loud.

Mity Vac's have a tendency to flip the seals in the master cylinder inside out. It did it to mine, you won't notice it except it will gradually let air into the system over time and your master will be ruined. Don't be a lazy *** and use te bleeder valve.
