Guys...Is converting my A4 to a M6 gonna be worth it?
Auto is getting boring, and i think putting a stick in would wake the car up. i have a 01 ws6. and i would lose more money by buying a new one so this is my only route. let me know what u guys think. Its gonna cost me 2000 for New parts which is the only way im goin. Should the 2000 go towards parts to juice up the auto, or go to the 6 speed.

It cost me around $2600 to do rear gears and a T56 swap. I got a 32,000 mile transmission, pedals, switches, crossmember used and everything else new from the dealer.
It's a whole new car, it sounds different, it feels like the chassis is going to drive itself out from under the body when I really get on it.

I just did the conversion about a month ago and its been great. If you love drag racing at the track , then keep the auto. If you like anything else go with the M6. I will admit that I will miss having a stalled automatic that could launch like a champ. But again. you can launch an M6 like a champ if you have the parts to handle it.

Or if you go with a nice built tranny and a good clutch, you can look at 3K plus which is what I did. In my case I needed a Drive shaft and a 12 bolt to so the price was pretty substantial . I was an A4, now an M6, and I have a trans braked A3 ready to go in now. For the track and traffic, the auto rules. For fun and freeway runs, the M6 is the ticket.

If you really want an M6 that bad, I say go for it. Just be aware of what the pros and cons are before you go through with it. If the pros outweigh the cons, then swapping in a T-56 is for you.

I did mine about 2 years and a couple of months ago, I am not great at drag racing with a stick(yet). I think about it everytime I go to the track(2-3times a year) I could be in the 11's with a Auto, but I love driving my car every chance I get since its been a 6-speed.
I would warn you that I (maybe some others too) broke the stock 10 bolt 1 month after the swap.
so that added another 2500 to the car then I replace my T56 with a new built D&D T56 so there is another 2400 it goes on and on

Correct me if Im wrong...but it seems that you just need some reassurance that you are doing the right thing.
If YOU want the M6 then do it. I have a BLAST with mine. Granted clutch issues are a pain in the ****** ***, it is still really fun to have more control over your car.
