Re: Viper T-56
I believe they're the same as what we have. The only difference is the master/slave setup. The GM style is lacking to say the least and causes our failures. If I'm mistaken on this, please correct me.

Re: Viper T-56
Input shaft is different and the 3-4 shift fork is steel vs aluminum.
That and the stamping on the housing is the ONLY difference.
The gears and all of that are the same material, nothing different.

Re: Viper T-56
also the viper output shaft is larger in diameter, and therefore much stronger than ours. thats the main advantage f-bodys need. supposedly D&D is going to have a kit available this summer to swap a Viper output shaft into an F-body T56.

Re: Viper T-56
I talked to one of the guys at D&D Performance (out of MI) a couple weeks ago (blew out 3rd gear syncro for the 4th time). The Viper T-56 is the same as ours - except as said above. They are now putting out better syncros for the T-56 made out of Kevlar. A new rebuild kit will be ordered soon. Hoping this will help. There is no such thing as a bullet proof tranny.
