Chirping 2nd Gear?

Chirping 2nd Gear? Ok, this is something i cant understand for the life of me. Why can i only chirp 2nd gear sometimes? I simply just dont get it. Is it me shifting differently (unlikely in my mind) or is it the car? Sometimes it will chirp hard in 2nd and sometimes not at all. For example, 2 weeks ago i chirped it very good, but today i couldn't do it for the life of me. (and nothing has happened to the car in this short period of time) Any advice, explainations, or answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Temperature and road surface condition are also key elements. Although I can say I , too, like the chirp of an agressive gear grab, it really does nothing more than eat/ wear your equipment.

a quick chirp is good, spinning in 2nd gear is bad
and the reason it may not do it all the time has alot of factors, road condition, temperature etc.. if you shift it as fast as you can and you feel good about the shift, dont worry about the chirp
probbly just road conditions and tire temps they are the main facotrs. possibly a slipping clutch that grabss sometimes.
as for chirping slowing u down? last time i checked a quick chirp means your shifting fast enough and hard enough. now if its a slow shift then chirp yea thatll slow ya down

Today i went out on a good "hammering road" and laid into it from 1st and chirped the hell outta 2nd. It was slightly damp outside but the streets were dry. I chirped 2nd so good that i shifted in to 3rd early cuz it scared me (I wasn't expecting it). I think I've found the cause, and im about 90% sure its me, the driver. I think wen i actively concentrate on shifting as fast as i can, i do it, but wen im just trying to show off w/ some1 in the car im not as focused, thus no chirp. Thanks for ur help guys. I appreciate it.
chirping is a sign of a good shift. youre keeping max torque to the tires into 2nd and its load breaks them loose a little.
i literally spin the top of 1st, spin all of 2nd, first and 2nd only last 2 seconds until im at 6k, then i chirp 3rd hard, or spin it a little.
im on 4.10's, centerforce clutch, and KDWS's in the rear with 50% tread left as drivetrain mods.

i dont chirp mine in my SS it will spin like crazy and when i hit 3rd spin some more then spin more in 4th. maybe cause of the tires i have and the road is cool but thats after warming the tires up. in the summer it still does it but not all the way through 4th like it does now.
