Default Should I throw in the towel (expert help needed)

so there was a horrible noise in the clutch area so we took the T56 out and this is what we found. All the bolts had backed out. When we pulled the bell housing along came the flywheel and clutch. This was installed by a shop. There was no sign of lock tight being used either.
So the big question! Is the crank to far gone to bolt another flywheel to? I can still thread bolts in all the holes.

If you can, Helicoil it. It would be a helluva lot better than buying a whole new crank.

Wow that's ugly.

That an Eagle crank? Looks like your crank plug is leaking (just like mine and a lot of other people). Replace the plug (1") and seal it with sealant before you put it together, otherwise, it'll do it again.

Was the clutch slipping?

****, I hope this is not what is happening to mine!! Can you explain the noise did it only do it from a stop (first gear) or did it do it all the time? What did the noise sound like was like a metal on metal or what? My noise only comes on from a stop. I can actually manipulate the noise and not hear it if I feather the clutch as I go from a stop. Let me know if that's what you experienced. Thanks Andy

uh that crank is done and so is the flywheel.

That is not a simple backing out, that looks like a never was tightened to me. Looks like they hand threaded the bolts then got in a hurry and forgot to tighten them down and they back out. If you look at the pics you can see where the bolts ramped out of the holes in the crank.

I would be in that shop with pics and or getting the shop owner to come to where the car is and see what his say is on it. Be easy going at first just to gauge them out, if they give you the ole we dont think it was us trip then I would proceed to get in a touch with a atty to get it settled properly.
