my picks would be
1.) Ram, I have had them from the protype stage and have never had a problem or a failure. Excellent product. Just depends on what you want from a clutch and like the guy said above, depends on your mods.
2.) Cartek (I have no experience with these but have heard / read some good things)
3.) Star / Spec, about the same as Cartek but there seems to be a lot of stuff negetively about them on the board. Could be just the squeeky wheels posting. Who knows?
4.) McLeod, I have had their products and none lasted and I had to eat a lot of money. I understand that their latest stuff is working tho'.
Look at the signatures of people around the board and ask their opinions via e-mail. Just buy from a reputable distributer that will stand behind what they sell.

I have a newer designed McLeod Twin Disk and its the bomb. NO CHATTER EVER! Grips like a bitch when you drop the hammer! It drives so nice around town (a bit more pedal pressure). I only have about 3500 miles on it, so I can't attest to how long it will last.
The shop that installed it really new what they were doing and his car has a year on it with more than a few drag passes and some road racing. They pulled it just to take a look and it looked as good as the day it went in.
I think the Cartek is really good, but I would use the McLeod Adj. master and new 145 slave. Some people have complained about quite a bit of chatter even after 2500 miles <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> .

scratch the s3 and skip to the stage 4, much better track record up to this point, and i think it is more streetable than the s3 imo having had both and the s4 currently.. its better.
when you call spec, dave n will tell u the same.
plus you wont need to shell out the extra $200 for the master cyl.

Another vote for the McLeod. I used mine for about 5000 miles before converting to an auto. It grabs brutally, but can still be slipped for around town driving. Never once chattered. The only down side to it is stiff pedal pressure. Oh, and it will find every other weak link in your drivetrain and break it. Got a CF driveshaft with mine, so make sure everything else is beefed up with it.

my vote goes to Cartek, I had 42K abusive miles on the first set, I'm on the second set now and it has no Chatter at all, driving in bumper to bumper traffic is piece of cake, like someone else mention above...get the mcleod adj. master no matter which clutch you use!!

I would have to vote for the SPEC stage 5. It is an iron disk clutch but is very drivable IMO. The engagement is predictable and linear with no chatter. My favorite clutch thus far.
Previous clutches: stock, Z06, Centerforce DF, Mcleod Rev-lok II, and I have also driven the a car with a Cartek clutch.
