Re: Z06 Clutch your impressions please
It's way too weak for anything beyond a stock LS1. Even the Z06 has too much hp for it. I had H/C, etc, etc, and toasted it w/in 1k.
Get a SPEC 3 Carbon w/ ported MC & upgraded slave.

You toasted it because you didn't break it in. I did not get on it at all until I had put 800 miles on the clutch and it is grabbing hard after 11K miles. Look at my sig and tell me I'm not making power! I would say if you don't launch higher than 4K rpm and don't use anything stickier than drag radials then the 02 LS6 clutch will last a long time.

Z06 Clutch your impressions please
How well does it work? I want to use one. I will have a cam, headers and a lid.
Thanks for the input.

If you break it in right, it should handle plenty of HP. Before I put 315/35/17 Nitto drag radials on the back, I had Sumitomo 275s and my car would grab rubber downshifting into 3rd at 65-70mph. I have made about 18-20 passes at the track and it is holding up fine with the Nittos so far. I have about 11K miles on it. Check sig for mods.

Im with SSINFUL... my factory clutch (2002 supposedly the same as a ZO6) was babied for 3500 miles, it wouldnt bite with drag radials at all... put in another ZO6 clutch, babied for 600 miles, again, cant take the launch with drag radials.

Re: Z06 Clutch your impressions please
I went form the stock 98' clutch which would not even grab with street tires to a SPEC Stage 3 Carbon with 02' Master and Slave.
Now the car gets rubber in third with the nitto drag radials on there. I'd reccomend this clutch if you plan on getting any more mods.

Re: Z06 Clutch your impressions please
IF, you know how to launch ,the Z06 clutch is great Mine has over 10k, at least 100 passes at the trackon a 11 sec H/C car. I run nittos and most 60 fts are mid to low 1.8s with a best of 1.79 on a M6 at 3550 race weight. No chatter like SOME after market clutches, no adj. master BS.No, it wont handle 4500 rpm launches on a ET street or slick, but for what I use it for with 3600-3800 launches on nittos it works great>To say its junk, or to toast it in 1k , well its driver error period!!
