M6 pops out of 3rd?
When cruising and then decelerating in 3rd, I noticed my trans will pop out of gear (happened a couple of times today) I do have a B&M Ripper, but it did it with the stock stick too.
Has anybody had this problem? The car only has 19,700 miles (2000 SS)
Any help is appreciated

Mine was poping out of third and poping out of reverse.
Replaced the 3-4 shift fork to steel - Fixed the 3rd poping out.
Replaced hats on reverse (They were all busted) - Fixed the poping out of reverse.

mine popped out of third as well, i rebuilt it and got a steel fork and new 3-4 slider, doesnt pop out any more. the only way your shifter is the fault is if you somehow messed up your install and the rubber boot is interfering you from engaging 3rd fully (this is very unlikely) this sounds like an internal problem all the way

The shifter install was pretty straight forward, no problems, didn't do shift stops either(not first shifter install)
Sounds like as you all have described- an internal problem. The car only has 19,700 miles on it and was bone stock when I bought it which makes it all the more weird.
But I'm not the original owner so who knows if the last guy ape shifted. Did you guys just take yours in to the local trans shop to have them rebuilt?

If it's doing it with the stock shifter and the B&M I'd bet it's the 3/4 fork. DON'T just take it to a local shop and tell them to rebuild it. You'll end up with some monsterous bill for a $50 part. I took mine to a dealer for the same problem (2000 TA) and they replaced the 3rd gear synchro, 3rd gear, countershaft, and 3/4 fork. Fortunately they were paying for it so I didn't mind, but if I had to pay that bill I wouldn't have been happy. To top that all off they installed the wrong input shaft in my trans after the work and I ended up pulling the trans 4 times before I figured out what they did. Either find a shop in your area that knows T-56s or turn to one of the sponors like t56rebuilds.com.
