Default McCleod clutch chatter?

I have about 2,000 miles on my McCleod Kevlar clutch and a couple of hundred miles ago it started to chatered a little taking off from lights and etc. I talked to a guy and he said this is normal since it's a race clutch. I don't really beleive him. Also my friend who his a Mercedes Benz tech. told me that the clutch has hot spots on it or it was installed wrong. So I need to know if this is normal or do I need to take my car back to the shop how insatlled my clutch?

Are you feeling any air in the clutch hydraulic line? I had air in my line and bad chatter. As soon as I bled it better the chatter instantly went away. Maybe try adjusting your engagement point first, then if that doesn't work, try bleeding the system thoroughly. This might help you out.

Been there done that....it is normal because you still have 342's. Most good race clutches will chatter with that gearing. You just have to "learn" the clutch and anticipate the chatter and adapt your clutch/throttle actions.....or get 410's. I have decided it makes more sense to get used to the clutch, which I have, and save my money for a 12 bolt with gears. BTW, have you also noticed it does it more after alot of stop and go driving. That simply is the kevlar getting heated up which creates the grab you want with one of these clutches. Third gear chirps are kinda cool aren't they?
Good Hunting.
OBTW, it takes awhile to get rid of the glazing on the flywheel is why it did not chatter right away...

Thanks for the help. Someone also told me to get on it.(take off fast) He said that would help because there might be a spur on the clutch and by taking off hard that would get rid of the spur. I'm also going to bleed the clutch and see if that helps out any.

I believe we have the same clutch, and with the stock gearing, mine chatters as well. You will eventually learn your way out of it, and learn how to get the car going without doing the cha-cha.

I have had my McCleod for the entire summer - numerous 5000rmp launches. Still quite as a mouse

Do you have the adjustable master? If not do it.
