Hard Shifting - Need Help...
Hey guys I just bought this car, quite a upgrade from my last, but my last car was also a manual, and this car is so much harder to shift. Not really smoothly at all... I am going to do the drill mod and see if that helps, but I was just wondering if there is anything else it could be. Or if maybe its just normal. If I am just sitting and I push in the clutch the first time I go into any gear it is like a 2 step process, not a smooth one push into gear, it like stops right before going into gear, then goes in. Then, if i keep the clutch in, going from gear to gear is pretty smooth. But when im driving its not like that, its still pretty rough to shift from gear to gear and it is IMPOSSIBLE to do it smoothly... Anyone have any ideas? Other then drill mod, or can someone tell me if the drill mod will definitely fix this?

TTT for ya, i have the same exact problem with my swapped tranny. Not sure what it is yet, i made a post about it as well and the only response so far is either bad hydraulics or needs the drill mod. I am also gonna try the drill mod but i'm doubtful that will be the fix.
Anybody have any other ideas?

Drill Mod done! Tranny feels better than it did but still has a notchy feel to it. I took it into the high rpms hard and never missed a shift, it felt great. I'm convinced its always going to have a notchy feel to it but as long as i can shift hard and fast its fine with me. Now its more of a crisp feel than a hinderance feel. My best friends 04 cobra feels exactly the same, notchy but crisp, doesnt hinder you from shifting when yours on it tho.
And for the record i dont belive its the shifter, i have a Hurst Pro Billet with 6" short stick. When the car is off, push in the clutch and it does not have the notchy feel to it, like said by wrencher its a hydraulic issue. Do the drill mod, the notchy feel after that is livable.
