Default McLeod twin disk and >7k rpms???

i have heard that the street twin isnt good for greater than 7k rpm's, and im gonna be building a motor to go beyond 7k rpms...is that just a bunch of crap, or is it really not good in high rpms...if so, what clutch has equal holding power, and can take more than 7k rpm's and more than 600rwtq???...thanks in advance <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Anything above 6700 rpm's and I would go with a strong single disk system. My buddy's McCleod twin disk would not take a gear at anything over 6600, but that was also a 2 yr old design. I am not sure if they have upgraded them or not. They are rock solid clutch's that do not let go, but i'd call them directly about this one..

How stiff is the clutch after installing one of these clutches?

Mcleod offers a newer version of the twin dosk that will handle 7k+ shiftpoints. We are going to install this clutch in Shane's 409ci solid roller motor. Just ask for the 3-finger Borg and Beck pressure plate. I was told this might even be the standard pressure plate for the twin-disk now.
