Default LS7 or Ram HD?

So most of my friends are telling me to go with the ram HD, but I DD my car and I don't want a super hard pedal. I doubt I will do more than a cam and LTs and other than that I have 3.73 gears. Cost is also an issue, so which one do you guys think would be better? I race it sometimes and might go to the track a couple times a season.

I'd say LS7 since you don't go to the track too often and you don't have much planned.

I had a RAM Powergrip HD and it was a super hard pedal with a fair amount of chatter. Unfortunately, it only lasted 2500 miles.

LS7... trust me

I have a Textralia OZ700 (z) and love it, but thats probably more than your willing to spend.

Good luck!

Ive had a few bad expeiences, Rather one continuous bad experience with ram clutches in my old '80 Z28! Ram warranteed the thing twice for me but I just burned them up almost as fast as I put them in. I wound up selling the 3rd one and got a centerforce(was a different era then) and was quite happy. I have heard some people swear by them, but after my own personal experience, I have to say stay away from ram!

If you're content with say 375whp or so, then the LS7 would probably be the best way to go IMO. Anything over that though, I'd have to ditch it for something better...

The LS7 comes in a 500hp car, why would you think the clutch wouldn't hold more than 375hp?

Well, considering that I have heard more than enough comlaints about people using it in stock Z06s...If it isn't cutting it at 450 or so whp, I wouldn't even consider it. To be completely honest, I'd never buy a clutch from manufacturer. It's just a waste of money.

Maybe the HD would be overkill for me? Just the normal Ram Powergrip. It is still rated to 500 hp. Anyone had experience with this clutch?
