Question To Locktite or Not???

Guys,

I'll be putting the T56 back in this weekend along with the new clutch and resurfaced flywheel. A question:

Do you used locktite on the following and what color (red/blue)?

Flywheel bolts to crank
Pressure Plate bolts to flywheel
Bell Housing bolts to block
Tranny bolts to bellhousing
Cap bolts on rear driveshaft yoke
Shifter Plate

Flywheel bolts to crank - Red
Pressure Plate bolts to flywheel - Blue
Bell Housing bolts to block - None
Tranny bolts to bellhousing - None
Cap bolts on rear driveshaft yoke - None
Shifter Plate - None. Just use some goop around the perimeter to put a good seal on it

Im use red on the flywheel bolts, the pressure plate bolts, and the slave cylinder bolts. Everything else gets nothing.

I believe that Loctite has anti galling qualities. On the bolts that don't get Loctite, I use anti-sieze on anything that goes into aluminium. But, I'm old and used to iron blocks. So aluminium still scares me...

Yup, the old LT1 is an Iron block and I'll prob, use some locktite on the bolts that mount the bell housing to the block, but AntiSeze on the bolt from the tranny to bell housing as that's alum. I'll let you know how it goes, and thanks for all of the input from everyone.

Thats what I would do.

Wire brush all bolts, then spray with a brake or carb cleaner.
Red loctite on all but the shifter plate. For those use a bit of the same sealant for the plate.

put some blue loctite on the slave cylinder bolts, last you want to happen is those small bolts shaking loose and the whole thing grenading.

On the flywheel bolts, make sure it's clean first before bolting it up with loctite. Same with the pressure plate. Do it once and do it right. If you have an aftermarket like a textralia, make sure the bolt holes have NO PAINT in them.

Thanks to everyone. I put her all back together tonight and OH MY GOD, it hasn't shifted that smooth since she was new. Worked out great and I appreciate all your input.

I red loctited the flywheel bolts but just torqued the pressure plate bolts. Am I going to have to worry about them backing up?
