D&D Performance in Detroit did mine, felt better than new. New synchro's, 2nd gear and the steel 3-4 shift fork. A lot of guys are going to Liberty as well. Some for basic rebuilds others for pro shifted rebuilds. Both are pretty well respected shops.

I'd rather just buy a whole tranny from D&D and sell mine when it comes in, no down time that way. If Derty recommends them I know I can count on them.

What do ya'll think, Tony did beat the mortal **** out of this tranny and had it rebuilt several
times. Here's its history:

I could send them my tranny and have it rebuilt and be down on the car or buy a totally rebuilt tranny from them and no downtime and more $$?

Actually, that one in the car isn't the original T56. The original one is going in my 69 Camaro. It was rebuilt twice while in the car, and rebuilt one last time for the Camaro. Your T56 is out of a '99 SS, owned previously by Jeremy Newhouse. He just had it rebuilt for his Twin-Turbo car, then the car got totalled. I drove up to Dallas and bought the tranny. I think he said a GM dealership rebuilt it the last time.

Not yet. Engine should be assembled in July, working on supercharger details. Will start tearing the car apart in 1 month to do the conversions.

D&D can turn around a tranny pretty quick. Just don't expect to drop it off to them on Monday or anything. Just call ahead and get it scheduled. Getting it trucked from KY will take longer than the work though. I dropped mine off on a Monday, it was torn down and the prognosis made on Tuesday, reassembled and ready to go by Wednesday afternoon.
