pro 5.0 ***. My foot stays on the gas when I shift....2-3 shift if perfect. You just have to hack some of the stock pro 5.0 stick off...the thing is a monster lol.

...has anyone had both the pro 5.0 and the hurst? which did you like better?

I have had both, and Hurst Billet gets my vote. The Pro 5.0 is nice and works well too but overall the Hurst is a smoother shifter. The Hurst is a bit notchy when brand new, but gets smoother with use....the Pro5.0 is super notchy the whole time. They are both good shifters, but in my personal car I prefer the Hurst.

I've had all three and like the Pro 5.0. It's a little noisy, but I've never had a problem with the 2-3 shift.

I have a Hurst with a short handle the previous owner made, I love it. Shifts are smooth and it's relatively quiet, I would recommend one.

Our 02 has the stock Hurst, and 6" WS6store stick. Our 00 has a Pro 5.0 and Lou's stick. Overall, i think both shifters are great. Noise isnt a concern for me at all, so ive never really paid attention to that.

I have tried the Ripper, but after running with the Hurst and short stick for so long, it just seemed wrong. The shift handle seemed WAY to long, and not nearly as comfortable. I dont think you can go wrong with the Hurst or 5.0.

I had a pro 5.0 and it got sloppy took it out and the nylon bushing that the shifter piviots on was worn out.
The hurst is the only one that is not nylon it will last longer and take more abuse just buy design

Has anyone drove or sat in a 08 shelby gt mustang? I unfortunatly work for a dealer ship so constantly moving them and I love the factory hurst shifter it has. What would be the closest shifter I could get to be like that one. Bad thing is I have never driven a trans am with the stock hurst package or any kind of kit, I did buy a shortstick from ws6store but I would like to either get the stock hurst or the billet, im guessing the billet would be better but i really dont know. So should I go stock or get the billet is what i m asking since I doubt imma get something so simular to the gt hurst. Thanks

the hurst billet plus is a great choice. anything is gonna be better than stock, so it's all a matter of personal preference. the pro 5.0 will be notchy and crisp, but some people have a problem with shifting one. the hurst is smooth and crisp, and people tend to enjoy this stick more. the b&m apparently sucks haha. i have a thread out there from a while back explaining a fix i made with the noise factors. do a search and you'll find a lot of good information.
