Default 6 speed conversion thread -In Realtime-

Paul (camaroextra) is doing a 6 speed swap on his 02 Z28. The lift is tied up so he's out there doing it on a creeper 'hero style' I'm going to post realtime updates on the progress, as he plans on having it done by tonight.

Check back!

I will seriously be impressed. I want to have this done on my car, working on scraping the funds together currently. Good luck with the time goal!

I did mine in a whopping 6 hours for the labor part excluding wiring, its doable if you've pulled transmissions before. Just don't break your ignition switch like I did and it'll be running in no time, good luck

There's spare F body parts galore around here, so no trips to the parts store is a plus.

It's coming along nice-
Header wrap to keep the hydraulic line cool-

An extra input shaft makes a great clutch alignment tool.

The U-bolt is easy as hell to put in with the column out! Here's "Thing" lending a "hand"

I've got to get some type of thermal wrap on my hydraulic line as well. Is the header wrap a good choice? What about the stuff they use with turbo install to protect electronics near turbos?

Either one will work fine. That, combined with the drill mod makes high RPM shifts much nicer.
