Default Questions regarding Mcleod single disk.

My RAM level 3 is slipping now and I need a clutch. I called Speed Inc. and they recomend Mcleod. I really like buying my parts from them and they dont carry RAM any way. So I was wondering how the Mcleod compares to the RAM. I would like to know if anyone has driven both of these clutches and could tell me if the pedal pressure is the same. I really like the real firm pedal pressure that the RAM has. I only got 19k miles out of my RAM and have 10 passes on it. From what I have read the Mcleod can go for an easy 40k miles. So thats another reason why I want it. The biggest thing im worried about is the feel of it and how hard its gonna grab. And wich disk lasts longer kevlar/organic or organic/organic? I already have a RAM slave and RAM adj. master if that has anything to do with how it will feel. Thanks in advance.

I had a kevlar/organic the pedal was stiffer than stock but not killer hard.
It held up pretty good, I finally tore it up at the track w/ slicks & 5K dumps lol.
Now I run the Mcleod twin, really like that clutch it's holding up real well.
For a street driven car I think you'll be more than fine with the K/O disc.
The single had all the characteristics of a stock clutch too me 'cept a heavier pedal.

How many miles did you get out of it?

I probably have ~25k on my single disk and it's holding fine. My only complaint is it can't take any heat so I can't slip it off the line like I would like to at the track. It's held over 500rwhp/550rwtq without any issues even in 5th gear.

I dont plan on really ever slipping the clutch at all but thats good info. How does it hold up at the track as far as hot lapping it? I mean I always give the car a good 30 minutes between runs but if the place is empty and I can catch a good race there I'll take it.

I've hotlapped it before and it held fine.

I prolly got 15-20K out of it. It still had some life on it but was showing it's age at the track w/ the slicks lol.
Held up real well for me.
