Default Question about the t56.

Just curious what's the best converter for the t56 if i wanna run high 11s with a trex cam and stock gears. I was thinking bout going for a 5200 stall with a pro 5.0 shift kit. Thanks guys.

well when i took my car to the shop they suggested that i need a big stall for my setup to run good times. They said they would charge me 800$ labor to install the pro 5.0 shift kit and the stall of my choice in the tranny. I don't know im just going by what the performance shop suggested.

Yeah, manual transmissions don't use stall converters. Even if they did, you wouldn't need a 5200 stall to run high 11's.

Here is what you need to do:

1. Go get a lighter, and some spare gasoline.
2. Go spread gasoline all over this said shop.
3. Light fire to the gasoline.
4. Watch said shop go up in flames.

BTW, what exactly did you tell them when you took the car to the shop, and where is this shop?

I'm assuming like the rest of us that you drive a Standard since you are posting in here..or by a slim chance you think the Auto it called a T56 and seen that under the Manual Transmission name..that's understandable as well.

If the shop said that when you were in person with them and they were looking at the Car and it is a Standard 6spd T56.. I would go have someone fired..

Next time someone says "There's no such thing as a silly question" I'll point them this.

Cool

If you believe what the shop said about a 5200 rpm stall in a manual tranny I have a big jar of the finest Massachusetts air to sell you. $50?
