Default Those who have had their t56 rebuilt

I was wondering for those who sent their t56 out for a rebuild got there same trans back. The way i understand it is you send your trans in and they send your same trans back to you. Anyone write the numbers on your trans down to make sure u get the same one back, or does it really matter to you?

We always send the same tranny back. That way you get the same gears and everything else back. I wouldn't want to send a 50k mile transmission in for a build and get a 150k mile transmission back.

Yeah thats what i thought. Thought they open my trans up and see what it needs, rebuild it and put it back together. I got my trans back from six speeds inc and its not the same trans i sent them. They said they sometimes use different housings but the internals are mine. I dont understand why they do it that way. Looks like they would rebuild mine and send it back.

I got my same transmission back from Liberty. Not sure if the fact that I am local and dropped it off and picked it up had anything to do with it. I doubt it though. I'm pretty sure that is how they do it for everybody.

That sounds like bull crap to me ....... I could under stand if you had a hole in the case or going to a Viper conversion and using a different tail housing .

Nothing was wrong with the cases. I had a slight grind when i shifted into 4th fast, so while i had my motor out i decided to have the trans rebuilt with a basic stage 1A. My trans had 70k on it. I really doubt any of the internals are mine either.
