First hand experience with the McLeod, Drives/engages like stock, except when you get on it and you bark 4th in a bolt-on car. Oh and did i mention it's extremely quiet and a full rebuild and balance is $400

Another vote for McLeod. Very light pedal pressure and it takes a lot of abuse. It's also super quiet. Haven't had to rebuild one yet but for the price of a rebuild it seems like a good investment.

Which Mcleod twin disk are you guys running? I'm also in the market for a twin disk setup.

Mcleod RST and RXT is what I would recommend. Very nice driving clutches with light pedal effort.

I'm lookn at Mcloed street twin cause it comes wit a flywheel and adj master cly! The RXT u have to buy a flywheel and adj master cly seperate! Do the street twins just bolt in or do u have to get a special throwout bearing made? Theres also a good deal on a Tex Exo-scel for $1,100 brand new in the for sale section!

Good luck... I smoked mine after 600 miles (500 break in, 100 driving hard)

Rebuild? What? Where? I tried asking around but got nothing. I've gone back to Spec and that is where I will keep my business this time.

Which one did u smoke? The Mcloed or Textriala (however u spell it)? If a twin disk went out that fast, it sound like it may have not been disengaging all the way...

I have tex twin currently. I am now installing my 408 and turbos and have been running it with just minor bolt ons.Its been fine.it was a bit annoying at first but now is pretty easy to drive in heavy traffic. It has pretty light pedal pressure . It does make an annoying floater rattle noise when you push it in which bugs me sometimes at lights and in traffic.
I plan on saying goodbye to clutches shortly and am going 4l80e. I am sick of hydraulics and all this crap. I had a cartech single before the tex and had huge problems with it do to the adjustable master crap.
As for service tex was very nice and even sent me some street disc variation they were trying out in the tex twin but I never got around to installing it.
APS the guys that make my turbo kit also said they didn't have great luck with the tex twins. Triples sound better but are big money. 4l80e and stall sounds better to me know.No missed shifts,no hydraulic crap.no clutch bleeding..no problems in traffic, no floater rattle. And turbos love autos and stalls.

Look at the www.Monsterclutch.com website. They have a triple for 1399.00 including the slave and pilot etc. 1yr warranty and stating it will take 1750ftlb tq. The twin will hold 1200. My Tex twin has about 2kmi on it and is toast. It is skipping at wot in the middle of a 4th gear pull. Not a bad clutch, but isn't taking my power.

Curiious why you think this monster clutch would do any better than tex twin? I am going to 4l80e this spring and my clutch days are over but if was staying with clutch likely would either go to tex triple or spec twin. Now sure why the tex twins don't seem to hold what they are supposed to sometimes. I have seen quite a few with good results with the triples and with the spec twins. Those tex triples are stupidly expensive though.

I had the McLeod street twin in the Z when the car was still a manual and it was rock solid. It looked brand new when I pulled it out to go auto.

I had a tex twin in the C6 and it was the worst clutch that I have ever driven. Pedal pressure was fine but it chattered like a bitch, even after the break-in period was up. I had a couple of calls on the phone with Tex and they sent me a single, which has been in the car for about a year and seems to be doing well, although the car hasn't really been to the track yet.

I'd go McLeod, especially with the new stuff that is out.

My tex twin was horrible for few hundred miles of break in but has been fine since then.
I drive it thru heavy traffic no problem. It can be a bit touchy sometimes going on things like drive on hoists .

I did complain a lot when first had it that it was undriveable and tex sent me some street organic type discs for it. I never did put them in .I checked the clutch when did my 408 install and it looked fine no problems with it. I was only running 425 engine hp or so thru it though as this was as said pre turbo and pre 408. Now its getting estimated 650 rwhp or so thru it not likely to get more as have trans and clutch sold to local buddy and going to auto.
I think the pedal pressure of the twin is fine, firm but not too hard. So far its grabbing good. I hate the floater rattle though it makes anytime you push in the clutch pedal. Which is all the time in the city traffic. And you can really notice it when windows are down and stereo is off or cutout closed.
Course the t56 factory hurst stick also rattles terrible when you give it much gas. I am pretty much just sick of my six speed and won't miss it much at all although do wish was installing a 6l80 instead of the 4l80e. Those extra gears would be nice.
