Is this a VSR turbo or who made it?

These are NOT VS racing turbos. I have a single turbo manufacturing company that all of my units are produced by, under my brand ASP turbo. I'm not the only brand selling turbos produced by this manufacturer. I have over 50 of these units out in use today with zero failures to date.

Throw up a dyno comparing it to a GTX55 and significantly out performing a real GTX 94mm and I'd consider it. Just hard to cough up over a stack for a turbo that's not proven to make 1500+ hp.

It looks similar to On3's offering, but not much data on either one:

The best comparison to a real GT55 is on a personal friends car. 421" Oldsmobile with a genuine Garrett GT55 98mm. This car ran consistant 9.1X's at 22/23psi. He bought a 102mm from me last summer, bolted it on and ran an 8.87 with only 16psi. I know it can be argued the my turbo has 4mm worth of compressor wheel over his real GT55, Regardless, his car picked up over 2 full tenths in the 1/4 mi, and did it with 5 less pounds of boost.

They are large in comparison to the Borg Warner S400 series. I added a thumbnail, the image is not mine but does show a size comparison between an S400 (S480?) And a GT55 clone, appears to be either a 94mm 98mm

*the s491 is a bit larger than the S480*

Gotcha, was that an older GT55 or newer GTX55? That's a cool looking car, something different and good to see some results.

If I remember correctly it was a UT8X/GT55 turbo. So not quite an old GT55, but not quite a true GTX55.
On a side note there is a member on here that ran one of my s480 clones in a T6 on a junkyard 5.3 down
Into the low 8.50's

Interesting. I got a vs 92/110 that’s maxed out. Wondering if your 102 will fit.

What did your 92/110 max out at? Seems like most people have been disappointed in those units.

Yep that seems to be the ceiling, which is really disappointing for a unit of that size. A FI 91/102 has been proven to 1400 rwhp. I guess the Forced Induction factor pays off in that regard.

We saw almost the same thing from the FI unit as he's seeing from that VS 92 jobby. We didn't get near 1400whp out of the bored out FI, it had very diminishing returns past 33psi and struggled to backhalf, took 37 PSI to do anything decent. Maybe others have had better luck with it or leaned on it harder.

The 92 was good till 24#. It had 1.3 back pressure. Tried 26 and only made 10 more HP at 1.6 back pressure. This was on a 385ci with AFR 260cc LS3's and 5" down pipe.
Can't be disappointed for the money. Figure 1150 x 30% puts it at 1500 crank. And its been 139mph 1/8 mile on 20# so far.
