Default Buying a car out of state?? Ohio guys!

Hey guys,

I'm hopefully going to be the lucky owner of an '08 C6Z

The car I'm going to get is out of Ohio.

Do I need to have the car inspected when I bring it into ohio before I register it?

I looked all over the DMV's website and didn't see anything

I do NOT live in an E-Check county, so maybe I'm okay?

The car is stock, so it'll pass all inspections, but I wanted to make sure first

Thanks!!

Yes, you'll have to get in inspected at the License Bureau. All they do is come out to the parking lot and check the VIN.

how long do I have to get it registered? I was planning on trailering it out of state, straight to my garage because of the weather...

i believe you only have to register it when you plan to drive it on the road in order to get plates.

if you dont want to trailer it, you can buy "in transit" tags in whatever state you buy the car in so you will have a 30-day temp tag to drive the car back (and register it if you plan to drive right away).

When i bought my TA it had to go to a local dealer to check the VIN...They sign off on it then the DMV transfered the title.
