I am livid. I picked up a brochure with all of the summit car shows listed for 2009 and noticed no mention of super summit. I was up at the summit retail store today and so so happen to talk to a fellow who helped organize the super summit every year. He told me super summit was canceled. I was shocked. I asked how could this be? The show was on its like 17 year running. He said that they got more complaints than praise on the show. Again, I was shocked. I asked who was complaining? He gave me an answer that didn't sit well. He said people didn't like waiting in longer lines for the super summit sale since the store was soo busy with the car show. That sounds crazy to me... first of all the sales arn't that great during super summit and secondly the reason it is soo crowded is because everyone is up there showing off there car. I believe it was neighbors and locals that complained about the event. It says in the summit brochure in small text that there is going to be "a non judged car show" on the day super summit would normally be on. So hopefully the car show will still go on! If this bothers anyone feel free to voice your opinion and let Summit know you want the super summit back!

I had found out at the end of february that supersummit and truckfest would not be for 2009,but the reasons were totally different than in your post.

In september,the NorthEastern Ohio Camaro Clubs' Annual 'Fall Classic' is being changed(for this year) to a Camaro AND Firebird show and it is being backed by GM.

Super Summit and Truck fest should be back next year. As long as the economy turns around. They are just trying to cut cost where ever they can. That had to be a big cost to them as a company.
